Objective
To work with the local church leadership, under their spiritual covering, for the growth and transformation of their youth—without interrupting regular church life, and instead supporting the church’s vision and ministry.
Foundational Principles
- Local Church-Centric – We believe God works through the local church; all UYD youth activities are rooted in and accountable to each church’s leadership.
- Pastor’s Blessing is Priority – No youth will be engaged in any UYD module unless the pastor gives consent.
- Complement, Not Compete – The training complements existing youth groups, Bible studies, and Sunday schools.
- Shared Shepherding – Pastors provide oversight; UYD facilitators handle module training, reports, and mentoring transparently.
How UYD Works With Each Pastor – Step-by-Step
Initial Collaboration Meeting
- UYD Team meets with pastor(s) to explain the full campaign vision, phases, and outcomes.
- Share a customized plan for their church youth based on church needs.
- Pastor signs a Core Team Commitment Form showing support, not control shift.
Church-Assigned UYD Coordinator
- Pastor appoints a local church youth coordinator (youth leader, elder, or deacon) as the bridge between UYD and the church.
- This person will:
- Track youth progress,
- Report to the pastor, and
- Facilitate communication with UYD.
Flexible & Church-Friendly Scheduling
- Training modules (1–2 hrs per week or bi-weekly) are scheduled around church services and programs (e.g., Sunday evening, Saturday afternoon).
- No activities clash with Sunday worship or existing church events.
- Special events like camps or fasting prayers are informed in advance to the pastor.
Continuous Pastor Updates
- Monthly progress reports (attendance, involvement, testimonies).
- Invite pastors to join or observe any training session or camp.
- Youth testimonies can be encouraged during Sunday service (with permission).
Pastoral Support is Actively Welcomed
- Pastor is encouraged to:
- Motivate youth personally for consistent participation.
- Visit or speak during key training or camps.
- Help us identify struggling or standout youths for special attention.
Empowering Church Vision Through Youth
UYD trains youth to:
- Serve in church worship, media, tech, teaching, or mission teams.
- Lead home groups or prayer cells within the church.
- Carry the church’s vision into colleges, workplaces, and mission fields.
Graduation & Celebration Led by the Church
- On completion of training, certificate or testimony day can be hosted in church.
- Pastor lays hands, prays, and sends youth into next phase (disciple makers, leaders).
- Keeps all glory within the local church body.
